The price includes reserved table, dinner and an unlimited full open bar for the evening. Along with the races and betting will a silent auction, raffles and more.

Officer Snyder was the first officer on scene responding to a disturbance and was shot once in the chin while confronting a suspect. He was pronounced dead at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. Officer Snyder, who lived in Edwardsville, had been with the department at least four years and was assigned to the Affton Southwest precinct. He leaves behind a wife and 2-year-old son.

Trenton Forster, 18, of south St. Louis County, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, with bail set at $1 million. Per his social media pages Forster, who was previously arrested on felony drug charges, has been influenced by and is a participant in the anti-police hate speech so popular in the media. His writings have been about marijuana, ecstasy and anti-police hatred. In May, he wrote: “I want **** the Police carved into my grave.” Forester was shot and arrested by the second responding officer. He is expected to recover to stand trial.
