Title

Louisiana Student and Chick-Fil-A Helping Families of Fallen Officers

Oct 12, 2016

Senior Caragan Lee designed her senior project to have a positive impact on her community. To do so she is raising funds for the families of the fallen law enforcement officers in cooperation with a local Chick-Fil-A.

The fundraiser is October 20th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Youree Drive Chick-Fil-A in Shreveport. Customers mentioning Caragan’s name or her senior project at the register when ordering will have a percentage of their meal purchase donated by the restaurant to the Louisiana chapter of COPS, or Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. COPS assists surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Furthermore, COPS provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.

Caragan hopes the community will come out and support the men and women in blue.

Survivors are finding that there is no such thing as “closure” and they may need the support of COPS for many years. Fundraisers like this are just one way to help COPS be there for them.
